Lanchester Aquatics

Visit LGC, and you’ll find that we’re more than a garden centre. In fact, we’ve just opened a new aquatics centre, supplying everything you need to create an aquarium at home.

Whether you’re just starting out or you have years of experience in fish keeping under your belt, you’ll find a host of livestock, food, and accessories to keep your aquarium up and running.

Cold Water Fish

We carry a wide range of cold water fish, suitable for ponds and aquariums, from the ever popular goldfish to koi carp and many more besides. Such fish are typically comfortable in temperatures below 20 °C and are usually more straightforward to keep than their tropical counterparts.

Tropical Fish

You’ll find an impressive array of tropical fish in our new aquarium. Guppies, Platys, Gourami, and Catfish are amongst the tropical fish we stock on a regular basis. Our wide variety of colours, sizes, and breeds of tropical fish mean you’re bound to find something for your aquarium, whether it is large or small.

Food

Our aquatics centre stocks the specialist food you’ll require for your fish. Our extensive fish food range includes flakes, wafers, pellets and granular food, plus some freeze-dried and frozen food. So, your fish can receive all of the nutrients essential for a healthy life.

Plants

To create a healthy eco system in your home aquarium, you’ll need the right plants too. In our aquatics centre you’ll find a diverse range of plants, suitable for tropical and cold water aquariums of all size, including marimo balls, moss, and ferns, to name but a few.

Tanks

No aquatics centre would be complete without a comprehensive range of tanks and cabinets in which to create your new aquarium. What’s more, we can provide bespoke tanks to fit your specific requirements. So if you have a particular space in mind for your aquarium, we can provide you with a tank that fits. You’ll also find all of the accessories you’ll need to get your aquarium up and running, from pumps to lights and heaters.

To get the most from your aquarium ensure you have the right set-up from the start. Key here is not only your tank, but the pump, lighting, and heating, plus the gravel and plants you choose to put in it. Our skilled staff can advise if you’re not sure how to begin.

Choose your fish species carefully to ensure they are compatible and make certain that your tank is the right size to accommodate them. Don’t be tempted to over stock your tank, or your fish won’t have adequate space.

Patience is a virtue when it comes to setting up an aquarium, so take your time and build it up gradually. Moving forward, be sure to maintain your tank well and don’t be tempted to over feed your fish – it’s all too easy.
